Instructions

    Windows is required. The system has been tested on XP and Vista.

    1. If your computer does not have .Net Framework 3.5 installed, you need to download and install it from Microsoft HERE. Alternatively, you can download our local copy HERE.

    2. Microsoft's Visual Studio Runtime DLLs are also required for the software. You can download them from Microsoft HERE. Alternatively, you can download our local copy HERE.

    3. System Works on Internet Explorer (IE). Has been tested on Internet Explorer Version 8.

    4. Check Internet Explorer settings: in the menu Tools -> "Internet Options" in the "Security Tab" bring up "Internet". Press "Custom Level" button. Scroll down. Under "ActiveX controls and plug-ins" there is an option for "Download unsigned ActiveX controls". By default it is "Disabled" - This setting will not IE won't allow you to download and install the browser plugin. Change this to "Prompt". And you should be able to decide if you want to download it.

    This step is required to enable the Video Chat plugin.

    Note: never ever set this settings to "Enable" - any Web page would be able to install rogue ActiveX controls on your computer...

    5. Browse to link provided at bottom of this page to start a Video session. During loading, the top of browser page will flash, right click and allow for suitable permissions when prompted. This will happen multiple times, grant permissions and install when prompted. A application's console shoul appear after succeful installation. If not, there is some problem in the setup process, contact customer support.

    6. In the Main screen click on "Start" button to start Video sender. This will open another window to configure IP Settings.

    7. In the Video Codec pull down, select FFDSHOW VIDEO ENCODER. Others might also work, but this one is tested well.

    8. In the Audio Codec pull down, select GSM 6.10 or Microsoft ADPCM. Others might also work, but these are tested well.

    9. Leave the Sender's serverIP and Port that appears unchanged. Press the OK button.

    10. Upon successful start, "Connection Key" will be displayed. This key needs to be provided to viewer (receiver) of the this video transmission.

    11. On a viewer machine, launch the page again. In the Connection key textbox on right side, set the Connection Key displayed at the sender's end (left side). Click on "Start Receiver" button. The application should now show the live audio/video from sender.

    12. In order to have bidirectional communication/chat. Do the steps of sender and receiver's end (step 7,8,9). Give the connection key in the instance where you want to recieve this video.

    13. There can be multiple viewers from the same session. Give the same connection key as shown in the sender's UI.

    14. Leave the page/tab open as long as you want to have the session. Whener you want to terminate the sharing session, close the tab.

    15. The demo works only 10 minutes for a session.
